About Dr. Catherine Woo
Dr. Catherine Woo was originally born in New Jersey, but moved to Taipei, Taiwan in fifth grade. She returned to the United States to attend Columbia University, where she earned her bachelor’s, as well as dental (DDS) and orthodontics specialty degrees (MS).
Dr. Woo was one of only seven residents who was chosen out of hundreds to attend the three year orthodontics program at Columbia. While there, she was trained in a variety of orthodontic methods, including straight wire, Invisalign, Damon and many others. She has experience in treating a variety of cases and severities.
Dr. Woo prides herself on providing individualized treatment that offers creative solutions to helping patients achieve their greatest smiles in the most effective and efficient way possible. She has made her patients her priority, and values the relationships she builds with patients and families. She works hard to ensure every patient is welcomed into a friendly and fun environment that they can feel comfortable in.
What sets Dr. Woo apart is her dedication to her chosen craft, as evidenced by her board certification. In addition to her certification by the American Board of Orthodontics, Dr. Woo is also a member of a variety of other organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Bronx Dental Society and the Northeastern Society of Orthodontics.
Ivy League Trained
Dr. Woo created Riverdale Family Orthodontics with a focus on teamwork. Not only has she worked hard to build the best team possible as part of her staff, she has a unique working relationship with Dr. Sam Polan of Tuckahoe Family Orthodontics. Like Dr. Woo, Dr. Polan is Ivy League trained, and between the two of them, they have five Ivy League degrees. They utilize each other’s expertise and knowledge to ensure every patient they treat has access to the most comprehensive and highest quality treatment possible.
Dr. Woo and her staff are honored and humbled to have been named the 2017 Best of the Bronx for orthodontic practices.
