Lingual, Behind The Teeth Braces
Braces have come a long way in recent years, and today there is an option for everyone.
If you are looking for a way to straighten your teeth effectively, without anyone knowing, lingual braces may be for you.
These braces fit along the lingual, or tongue side, of your teeth. That means no one will be able to see them… unless you open your mouth up to show them, that is!
They utilize traditional metal brackets and wires, but are practically invisible from the outside. But because they work like traditional metal braces do, they can be very effective in correcting even the most complex malocclusions.
Because the brackets are on the inside of the teeth, it can take some time for your tongue to get used to them. They may feel slightly rough in the beginning, and your speech may be affected in the first few days you have the braces on.
Using completely customized computer-engineered brackets and wires, Dr. Polan is able to provide exceptional treatment using lingual braces. Because the movement with braces on the lingual side of the teeth can be a bit more complex, treatment may take longer and be a bit more expensive than with standard metal braces.
